Thank you to all our staff, volunteers and sponsors, the 2008 Premiere 'Eastside Youth Festival' was a great success! "It was real. It was powerful. I was really proud to be leading something that positively affected so many peoples' lives," said Anna Jones, Director of Development.

On Saturday August 16 DEYAS hosted the Eastside Youth Festival with live music, graffiti painting, b-boy dancin' and a BBQ where we fed over 500 people. Special guests Deja & the Young Prophecy Army rapped twelve songs about life in the streets. People in the crowd were talking aobut how they identified with the words. In fact people are still talking about the event, which is why we are already working on next years show!

Event Film: We are in the process of editing the films and uploading them to the DEYAS www.youtube.com site where you will see bands perform, news coverage and interviews. Thank you to Bob Fisher and Edmund Smith for taking care of the filming for the day.
